Bioethical security

1. Ethical Compliance

The Sulaimani Dental Journal upholds the highest standards of bioethical security in all published research. Authors must ensure that their studies comply with international ethical guidelines, including those set by the World Medical Association (WMA) Declaration of Helsinki and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

2. Human and Animal Research Ethics

Human Subjects: Any research involving human participants must obtain ethical approval from a recognized Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee. Written informed consent must be obtained from all participants or their legal guardians.

Animal Studies: Research involving animals must adhere to ethical guidelines such as the ARRIVE Guidelines (Animal Research: Reporting of In Vivo Experiments) and the principles of the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement). Proper institutional approval is required.

3. Patient Confidentiality

Authors must protect patient privacy by ensuring that no identifiable personal information (such as names, photographs, or medical records) is disclosed in the manuscript. If necessary, explicit written consent must be obtained from patients before publication.

4. Conflict of Interest and Research Integrity

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the research.
